I've managed to watch a bit of the "Dredd 3D" movie from my Playstation 4 Pro, and it is the best 3D experience I've had so far (including cinema/3D TV/other cinema headsets/VR goggles, etc). I was so encouraged by how good it was, I immediately purchased a copy of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 3D to watch on Cinera (which I plan to watch imminently!).
I can't wait for the Ready Player One movie to be released on 3D blu-ray, I think that movie will be something special in 3D! :-D
I'm also looking forward to testing the new mouse feature, that'll be very handy when I have a memory stick in the USB port and can't use an external remote controller.
Very exciting times at the moment! :-D
I have now watched Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Ready Player One all the way through in 3D!
It's an absolutely perfect 3D experience. Unlike the inferior SBS 3D format, I no longer feel like I'm compromising on image quality/resolution in order to enjoy the 3D experience - this is in a lot of ways the realisation of what the 3D blu-ray format is intended to deliver.
Cinera worked automatically with my Panasonic 4K upscaling/3D blu-ray player to detect the 3D content and adjust the 2D/3D mode in Cinera for me.
I also used the new mouse cursor functionality to navigate the OS (the real test will be using it in apps such as Netflix and BBC IPlayer.
So far, I've not encountered any issues at all, and I'm extremely pleased with the results of the 3D blu-ray functionality we've all been so eagerly awaiting.
